The mission of the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen organization is to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens.

Miss America's Outstanding Teen is a scholarship based program. Through the efforts of thousands of volunteers across the country, the organization offers to accomplished teens the opportunity to win college scholarship funds.
Who Can Compete?
The competition is open to young ladies 13-17 years of age who must meet the following criteria:

Be a United States citizen.

Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town or state.

Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.

Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete.

Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Competition.
What Will I Compete In?
The Private Interview will take place during the day of the pageant. You will have 8 minutes with the 6-judge panel where they will ask you a range of questions based on things like: current events, your educational history and accomplishments, your activities, teen issues, etc.
The On-Stage Question will be asked while you are competing in the Lifestyle phase of competition.
You are required to perform a 2-minute talent of your choice. This can include: dancing, singing, baton, karate, tumbling, monologue, instrumental piece, etc.
You will be judged in evening wear in a dress or gown of your choice. It can be any length and we will look at your composure on stage, confidence and grace in your dress.

Lifestyle and Fitness will consist of a short walking pattern in an ensemble that we will provide for you.
